2011 Club Champions
Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 01:51AM Last weekend (10th April) at Lake Karapiro we hosted the KKRC club regatta!!! Bay of Plenty joined us in our hard work and fun races.
Throughout the day there were a variety of races starting from a fun throw your paddle to an intense 4km sprint/race. The 4km race turned out to be more like a marathon/swim for some people.... half of the competitors entered carried out the impromptu swim part of the race with excellence!!
During the K2 mixed crew races the teams went off with a flying start, but unfortunately Brad and Amelia had a little tip (almost losing the boat to the bottom of the gloomy lake).
The overall turnout was a great success with quite a number of juniors in the category. At the end of the day everyone left with smiles on their faces, goodie bags for the kids and also wet clothes for many too.
